Guitar Course 2023

Course Details

The Juan Martín Guitar Course will be held in 2023 between Saturday 1st July and Saturday 8th July at the Hotel Catalonia Reina Victoria, Ronda, Andalucia, Spain. All classes are taught or supervised by Juan Martín. Students should ideally arrive on Saturday 2nd July so that they are ready to join the first lesson on Sunday 3rd. There will be a morning daily 2 hour lesson plus a one hour lesson in the afternoon. The lessons will be for 6 days so that the last one will be on Friday 7th leaving on Saturday 9th. We do not accept beginners and players should be able to play a piece from one of Juan’s books, for instance a solo from Solos Flamencos grades 0 to 1.

As usual, we shall also arrange for a beginners flamenco dance class each morning for partners to participate in should they wish to. These are generally held at the local Peña Flamenca and taught by a very good local teacher. Please email us if you are interested.

From Málaga airport there is a short distance to the bus station from where there are buses up to Ronda costing approximately 11 euros. It is suggested that you arrive by early afternoon so that there are still buses running. Alternatively a taxi can be taken directly to Ronda and if others are arriving at a similar time we can try to arrange for you to share a minibus to the hotel. If you can fly to Gibraltar, take a taxi to the train station at San Roque where there are a few trains up to Ronda but we cannot confirm their schedule so the earlier you arrive, the better.

The hotel only require a credit card to guarantee the room. However, should you need to cancel your reservation, please do so 48hrs beforehand or they will charge.

The cost of the course is £585 for the week (excluding accommodation and transport to and from Ronda).
